Overview

For my Information and Learning Technology (ILT) internship, I worked to develop a warehouse operations manual for a Denver-based nonprofit, Project C.U.R.E. Project C.U.R.E redistributes medical surplus from the United States to developing countries throughout the world and since its founding in 1987, has reached patients in more than 130 countries. I felt honored to enhance the work of such a critical and impactful organization.

Within the tight timeframe of May to August, I was able to analyze procedures, design manual templates, and begin developing content. This required a top-down, bottom-up effort in collaboration with executives, middle management personnel, and interns to write the first ever operations manual for warehouse best practice procedures. Planning for and creating the manual was the first phase of a larger change strategy or culture shift to truly adopt a strategic and standardized procedure for consistently executing warehouse tasks. My internship did not entail participation in the second phase.
